1. Who we are and what these Terms cover
This platform is operated by the International Law Compliance Institute (ILCI), represented by Prof. Dr. Nikos Lavranos, established in the Netherlands (internationallawcomplianceinstitute.org).
These Terms of Use apply whenever you create an account, accept a team invitation, purchase or use a subscription, or read a report on the ILCI platform. For how we handle personal data, see our Privacy Policy.
2. Research & informational use only — not legal advice
Important notice: All case entries, compliance classifications (paid, unpaid, settled, annulled, pending, or other categories), executive summaries, country and annual reports, and AI-generated answers reflect ILCI's scholarly and analytical classifications based on publicly available sources as of the stated cut-off date. Nothing on this platform constitutes legal, financial, or investment advice, and using the platform does not create a lawyer-client or advisory relationship.
AI search transparency (EU AI Act Art. 50): The AI search feature on /cases generates answers automatically from ILCI's case database and published reports. Although every answer links to cited cases or report sections, automated outputs can be incomplete or inaccurate. Always verify any point against the underlying award, decision, or report before relying on it in legal proceedings, advice, or publications.
3. Accounts, seats, and team access
- One named person per seat: Each account is personal to one named individual. An Individual subscription covers one person (1 seat). A Team subscription covers up to the number of seats paid for by your organisation, assigned by email invitation from your account page. Sharing a single login or password among multiple people is not permitted.
- One organisation per account: An account can belong to or own one organisation subscription at a time.
- Account security: You are responsible for keeping your password and single-use sign-in links confidential and for notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
4. Intellectual property, permitted use, and watermarking
All compliance reports, executive summaries, compliance classifications, and database compilations are protected by copyright and database rights held by ILCI and Prof. Dr. Nikos Lavranos.
What you may do: While your subscription or report licence is active, you may search the database, read licensed reports in the online reader, print personal reference copies of licensed reports through the platform's print button, and cite findings or brief quotations in legal submissions, client memoranda, or academic work with clear attribution to ILCI.
Watermarking: Every page in the online reader and every printed PDF copy is stamped with the licensed reader's email address, organisation name, and date (Licensed to <email> · <organisation>).
What you may not do:
- Forward, upload, resell, or distribute report PDFs or full-text copies to anyone who does not hold an active seat on your subscription.
- Remove, crop, obscure, or alter any licence watermark or copyright notice.
- Use automated tools, scrapers, crawlers, or scripts to extract or mirror the case database, report text, or AI answers in bulk.
- Use ILCI reports, case records, or AI answers to train, fine-tune, or populate any external machine-learning model or competing commercial database.
5. Subscriptions, billing, seat changes, and cancellation
- Prices & payment: Prices are stated in euros (EUR) on the Plans page and settled securely through Mollie B.V. Applicable VAT is applied as shown at checkout and on your payment receipt/invoice.
- Automatic renewal: Monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless the organisation owner cancels before the renewal date.
- Adding or removing seats (Team plan): The organisation owner can add extra seats (up to the plan maximum) from /account. Adding seats charges a prorated amount for the remainder of the current billing period and updates the recurring amount from the next renewal. Removing seats takes effect at the next renewal, with no refund for the current paid period.
- Cancel any time: The organisation owner can cancel the subscription at any time on /account. Nothing further is charged, and everyone in the organisation keeps access until the end of the current paid period.
- Failed renewals: If a recurring payment fails, a 3-day grace period applies while payment settles. If payment is not completed, subscription access ends at the close of the paid period.
- Immediate digital access: The platform is designed for professional, academic, and institutional users. Where mandatory EU consumer withdrawal law applies, by subscribing and accessing the digital database and reports immediately upon payment confirmation, you consent to immediate performance of the digital service.
6. Fair use, AI quotas, and suspension
To keep AI search fast and predictable for every subscriber, each seat has a daily question allowance (default: 20 answered questions per UTC day, reset at midnight UTC, subject to an organisation-wide ceiling). ILCI may adjust fair-use limits or temporarily suspend an account if we detect credential sharing, automated scraping, or unauthorised redistribution of watermarked reports.
7. Limitation of liability
The platform and its contents are provided for professional research on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis. While ILCI takes great care in compiling arbitration cases and compliance reports, we do not warrant that the database or AI search will be error-free or uninterrupted.
To the maximum extent permitted by Dutch law, ILCI is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions taken in reliance on the database, reports, or AI answers. ILCI's total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to a subscription or report is limited to the total fees paid by your organisation to ILCI in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, except where liability cannot be limited by law (such as intent or conscious recklessness — opzet of bewuste roekeloosheid).
8. Governing law and contact
These Terms of Use and any subscription or licence entered into on the platform are governed by the laws of the Netherlands (Nederlands recht). Any dispute shall be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules where applicable.
